Barcelona was one of the luxury wedding destinations that took part in the Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2019, together with 70 countries with a shared objective: to make the destination wedding an unprecedented global experience. The Destination Wedding Planners Congress (DWP) is one of the leading business platforms in the destination wedding market. This exclusive event is only open to top-level wedding professionals, selected for their ability to create unforgettable weddings for couples from around the world. Barcelona Weddings had the privilege of sharing the stage with more than 500 delegates and personalities from the international weddings sector of the calibre of Preston Bailey, Ali Bakhtiar, Vandana Mohan, Nadia Duran, Fanny NG and Fabrice Orlando. Barcelona Weddings hosted a pre-congress event, with programme members Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I and Finca Mas Solers, to mark the first time the city had attended the DWP. The event took the form of a presentation about Destination Barcelona to 20 destination wedding planners from Dubai and was held in association with Arabia Weddings, the Middle East’s leading online portal, and MENA. Since 2014, the Destination Wedding Planners Congress has been working to bring together the top destination wedding providers at different locations with two aims in mind: to forge closer links between professionals and organisations as part of the destination wedding; and to discover the finest luxury venues on the planet to hold exclusive weddings.
